The iPhone beta

How do I join the TestFlight beta?

Wubee for iPhone and iPad is in beta and free while it is. Install Apple’s TestFlight app from the App Store, then open our TestFlight invite link on your iPhone. The public link is on its way. Email us and we’ll send you an invite.

What’s free, and what is Wubee Plus?

Every daily challenge and every game with a friend, online or on one device, is free in any size, and so is solo play on 3×3×3. Wubee Plus adds solo 4×4×4 and 5×5×5 in all three games, every Word Cube practice board and Cube Pop Zen. Choose Monthly, Yearly (with a free week for new subscribers) or Lifetime (pay once). Find it in Settings → Wubee Plus. Full details are in the Terms.

Restoring Plus on a new iPhone or iPad

Open Settings in Wubee and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought Plus with.

Cancelling a subscription or asking for a refund

Cancel any time in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Wubee; Plus stays on until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Will beta games carry over?

Yes. Your settings and progress live in your own iCloud, and games with friends stay in your list when you update to the App Store version.

How to play

Tic Tac Cube

Take turns placing pieces in the cube. Get a full row (three, four or five, depending on the board) in any straight line: across a layer, straight down, or diagonally through the cube. Drag to spin, pinch (or the layers button) to spread the layers, tap a spot to preview and tap again to place.

Word Cube

Tap a letter, then a touching letter (up, down, left, right, forward or back, never diagonal) to trace a word, and tap Enter. Each letter can be used once per word. Find enough words and more of the cube is revealed. Longer words score more; a word that passes through every layer earns a bonus.

Cube Pop

Trace three or more touching orbs of the same colour and tap Pop. The rest fall towards whichever side of the cube is facing down on your screen, so turn the cube to aim. Pop 5 in one chain for a bomb, 6 for a beam, 7 or more for a wild prism. Gold orbs double a chain’s points.

Playing with friends

How do I invite someone?

On any game’s page tap Invite, then Copy link or Share. Your friend opens the link: it plays right there in their browser, and if they have the iPhone app, an Open in app button switches to it. Games wait for each player: there are no timers.

My friend doesn’t have an iPhone

They can play in any modern browser after signing in with an Apple Account (free to create at appleid.apple.com). Two players on the same device need no account at all.

Online games don’t load on my iPhone

Online games need iCloud: open Settings → [your name] → iCloud and make sure you’re signed in. Check you’re online, then reopen the game from Your games. If a game still doesn’t sync, email us the link.

I don’t get notified when it’s my turn

Open Settings → Notifications → Wubee and turn on Allow Notifications. In the app, Settings shows whether notifications are on. You’ll get an alert when your friend moves, and one reminder after 24 hours.

Reporting a player

In an online game, open the ••• menu and choose Report player: it starts an email with the game ID. You can also End the game (it stops for both players) and archive it from Your games.

Settings & devices

Sound and haptics

Tap the speaker button at the top of any screen to turn sound on or off; it also stays quiet when your iPhone is on silent. Haptics can be switched off in the app’s Settings.

iPad and larger screens

Wubee runs on iPad in any orientation. On wide screens the cube sits on the left with the controls beside it.

Deleting your data

Your settings and progress live in your own iCloud: delete them in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, or by removing the app. To delete records of games with friends, email us the game links.
